PANews February 8 News, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin posted on the X platform that he will accept the rebranding of Twitter and will refer to Twitter as “X” in the future. He also suggested that “Tweet” could become a generic term for all social media messages centered around short text content and with a similar X product experience, similar to how “Kleenex” has become a generic term for tissues. Vitalik gave examples that this usage could apply to short text content on platforms like Farcaster, Lens, and Truth Social, and pointed out that historical posts can still be called “Tweets.” Additionally, he believes “Crypto Twitter” can still be used as a fixed term, and jokingly suggested it could be called “CryptoX.” He also added that the above content has been synchronized via Firefly and posted across multiple platforms including X, Farcaster, and Lens.
