Many people are easily convinced by conspiracy theories primarily because of a mindset of weakness; when they cannot comprehend the complex functioning of reality, they revert to the simplest moral judgments: attributing events to "good people or bad people," "someone is manipulating the market," or "someone is harvesting profits." Although this binary explanation is simple, it conceals the true complexity of the world. In fact, great novels never simply categorize characters as good or evil but instead portray the complexity of human nature; similarly, great investing requires an understanding of both the intricate structure of the world and the complexity of human nature. These two systems are fundamentally intertwined, and those who can understand both are truly at a high level.
