Don't remind me again today

#ETH巨鲸增持 Playing altcoins with contracts? I've seen too many people pay tuition on this path.

When others show off their 10x returns, they won't tell you how many times they've been liquidated. I learned the hard way myself—now I stick to just three ironclad rules, and never touch exceptions.

First rule: Only trade the right side, the left side is a death sentence.

Altcoins have no fundamentals; it's all about capital flows. If you try to catch the bottom in a downtrend, you're just using real money to test "how much lower can it go." My habit now is, unless I see a breakout with volume on the daily chart (like breaking above the MA60), I don't even consider opening a position.

What does a breakout mean? It means money is starting to flow in. Sure, the cost is a bit higher, but the win rate goes up too. Cheap coins are often toxic, and expensive entries are actually safer.

Second rule is even tougher: No single position should use more than 2% of your margin.

You might think that's too conservative, but altcoin volatility is enough to give you a heart attack. Small positions aren't about earning less—they're about surviving more rounds. Those random market blowups—you can never predict them—the only thing you can do is control your maximum loss per trade.

Being afraid to lose is more important than being afraid to make less. People hoping to get rich quick on low probability usually lose their principal first.

Third rule is the hardest to keep: Results in 3 days, or exit.

I don't get emotionally attached to any coin. After opening a position, I set a hard deadline: If it doesn't move in three days, cut the loss; if it chops sideways for three days, cut the loss too. If the market doesn't give feedback, it means your judgment is off.

The biggest risk for short-term trading isn't losing money—it's letting a short-term trade drag into a long-term hold, and ending up stuck.

My goal is never to catch the entire wave, only the most certain part—the piece that goes with the trend and can be closed quickly. Leave the 10x legends to others; I just want setups where probability is on my side.

You'll miss some get-rich-quick stories, but you'll also avoid all the wipeout traps. In the end, you'll find that the true winners in the contract market are the ones who survive the longest. $BTC $ETH $SOL

That's absolutely right, survival is the most important thing. I've seen too many people lose everything chasing 10x dreams, while those who play it safe actually last the longest.

Hmm... hindsight is always the most pleasant to hear. Does anyone still believe in that left-side/right-side stuff nowadays?

Absolutely right, buying the dip on the left side is just asking for trouble. I used to try and get in cheap too, but now my account is missing a zero and I finally understand. --- A 2% position size really has saved me before; most people just can't control themselves. --- If it doesn't move in three days, exit—that's the hardest to stick to. Always want to wait a bit longer, haha. --- When others make ten times, you want to follow, but end up with zero yourself. Survival comes first. --- I totally agree with only opening positions after a breakout on the right side. I'd rather pay more for safety. --- The scariest thing is when a short-term trade turns into a long-term hold and you get stuck. Painful lesson. --- That 2% margin rule is golden. So many people lose everything by going all-in out of greed. --- Emotions are poison in contracts; you have to be rational.
