Don't remind me again today

#美联储恢复降息进程 The Fed has thrown out the 2025 interest rate cut plan. This move, to put it bluntly, aims to give the economy a bit of a boost while keeping inflation in check. According to their projected path, the federal funds rate could drop to 3.9% by the end of this year—sounds quite technical, but in simple terms: loans for buying houses, cars, and credit cards may not carry such harsh interest rates in the future.

Consumers are certainly happy, and with their wallets loosened, they naturally dare to spend. However, there are plenty of voices from experts pouring cold water on this: If interest rates are cut sharply, will inflation strike back? How much will the dollar be diluted? The market is already pricing this in, and the dollar has indeed softened quite a bit recently.

From the sector perspective, tech stocks and consumer goods may be the winners. With a decrease in borrowing costs, companies are more daring in their expansion, and consumer demand can also be stimulated. Of course, this is the ideal situation—there are still many variables in actual operations, after all, the economy has never been a linear projection.

What do you think of this operation? Do you think lowering interest rates can really support the economy, or will it leave a bigger pit later?

Cutting interest rates down to 3.9% sounds good, but I'm afraid it might be a case of drinking poison to quench thirst. If inflation rebounds, it'll be even harder to control.

Rate cuts are a double-edged sword—great in the short term, but who knows about the long run?

Is interest rate cuts poison or antidote? It depends on who can handle it.

Lowering interest rates is like drinking poison to quench thirst; it feels good now, but it will dig a deeper pit later.

Interest rate cuts are back, is the Fed trying to pump it up or dig a pit? It feels like a gamble.

3.9%? To be honest, this number doesn't mean much. The key is what the dollar will be diluted into.
