Scroll launches the Open Source zkVM framework OpenVM for instant proof, transitioning to Type-1 zkEVM.

Odaily Planet Daily News Scroll, Axiom, developer Max Gillet and the Privacy and Scalability Exploration (PSE) team of the Ethereum Foundation announced the launch of the Open Source zkVM framework OpenVM for instant proofs. Scroll L2 will adopt OpenVM as its zkVM and plans to validate mainnet blocks in the coming months. This will transition Scroll from its current Type-3 to Type-1 zkEVM, which is most closely equivalent to Ethereum’s zkEVM type. Scroll will soon upgrade to a Stage-1 rollup with a fully functional proof system. (Blockworks)
