Bitcoin’s recovery above the $94,000 mark on January 5th reignited bold price predictions on Crypto Twitter, most notably YoungHoon Kim’s claim that Bitcoin will hit $100,000 within 48 hours. This statement quickly spread, partly due to the market’s short-term rebound and partly because of Kim’s controversial reputation with extreme forecasts.
Kim – a South Korean social media personality – gained fame in late 2025 when he repeatedly claimed to have an extremely high IQ and believed his market views were superior to traditional analysis. However, many of his previous predictions did not materialize, as Bitcoin was restrained by macroeconomic instability and weakening momentum.
Although Bitcoin’s recent rally coincides with the US stock market’s “risk-on” trend, the overall picture has not changed significantly. The momentum has improved, but key factors such as panic buying, supply shocks, or strong on-chain signals are still missing to support a rapid surge into the six-figure range.
