Foresight News reports that the ZK Nation community has released a proposal to “upgrade the ZK token and introduce a permissionless burn feature,” with voting opening on November 13. The proposal includes upgrading the ZK token contract to ZKTokenV3, which is a minimal extension based on ZKTokenV2. New features include: public burning (any token holder can permanently burn their own tokens); addresses holding the BURNERROLE can burn tokens from specified accounts; allowing any program to read the maximum supply of 21 billion ZK tokens in the contract, and enforcing this cap when minting new tokens.
