The famous Bitcoin education organization in El Salvador – My First Bitcoin – has ceased operations in the country and terminated its partnership with the Ministry of Education. Established in 2021, this nonprofit organization previously offered free courses and developed the “Bitcoin Certificate,” helping over 27,000 students, primarily from public schools, access cryptocurrency.
The termination of cooperation occurred after the government of El Salvador changed its Bitcoin policy, especially following the $1.4 billion bailout from the IMF that required restrictions on related projects. Currently, the state treasury holds about 6,374 BTC, worth nearly $655 million.
My First Bitcoin announced that they will expand globally, supporting teachers and training programs in countries such as Argentina, Costa Rica, and Colombia, aiming to build an online Bitcoin learning network for billions of people around the world.
