Jin10 reported on October 22 that Malaysian state media quoted the Trade Minister as saying the country welcomes foreign companies to establish joint ventures with local firms to develop rare earth resources in Malaysia. According to government estimates, Malaysia has about 16.1 million tons of rare earth reserves, but lacks the technology to mine and process these resources.
