OpenAI plans to transform ChatGPT into an "application operating system" and introduce third-party apps.
PANews, October 9 news, according to TechCrunch, Nick Turley, head of OpenAI ChatGPT, stated that ChatGPT is evolving into a platform similar to an operating system, with the core being built-in third-party applications (such as Expedia, DoorDash, Uber), which can directly facilitate transactions and revenue sharing. OpenAI has released developer guidelines requiring apps to only collect “the minimum necessary data” and is considering the introduction of partitioned memory for fine-grained permissions. Regarding similar services, priority will be given to showcasing and paying for top listings, which OpenAI is still exploring, but with user experience as a priority. Turley emphasized that ChatGPT is the “carrier” for OpenAI's distribution of AGI, and the product and mission will continue to be integrated.
