The second day of negotiations concluded with Hamas and Israel focusing on troop withdrawal and the release of detained personnel.

Jin10 reported on October 7 that on the evening of October 7 local time, a source from the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) revealed that the negotiations between Hamas and Israel in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, had concluded. The two sides focused on discussing the route for the Israeli military's withdrawal and the release of Israeli personnel who have been detained, with the involvement of mediators. The source stated that the Hamas delegation demanded that the release of the detained Israeli personnel must occur simultaneously with the complete withdrawal of the Israeli military. The Hamas delegation emphasized that achieving a final ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the comprehensive withdrawal of the Israeli military requires guarantees from the international community.
