After the Bitcoin and crypto reserve executive order signed by Donald Trump in March, U.S. politicians accelerated their efforts regarding the reserve's long term nature. Among the names leading this issue is Senator Cyntia Lummis, who is behind many crypto laws.
Saylor and Thiel are also the future
Lummis, one of the names behind the recently accepted Genius Act, will host important figures from the crypto world in Washington today. A “round table meeting” will be held in the Congress building. The meeting will include Michael Saylor, founder of Strategy, Fred Thiel, CEO of Marathon Digital, and many other important names.
The Bitcoin Law will be explained to the Congress members
As is known, there is currently a presidential decree in the USA based on which there is a limited reserve. In order to make this decree larger, permanent, and Congress-approved, the “BITCOIN Act” law needs to be passed. During the meeting hosted by Senator Lummis, discussions will take place on what kind of dialogues should be established with Congress members for the passage of this law.
Members of The Digital Chamber, a Washington-based lobbying group, will also be present at the meeting.
As is known, in the Bitcoin Law, whose main sponsor is Lummis;
The acquisition of one million Bitcoin by the US as a strategic reserve,
Spreading these purchases over 5 years,
Purchases should be made with sources that will not burden the public, namely taxpayers.
items are available.
The bill, which is still at the draft level and needs to be approved by the House Financial Services Committee and the Senate Banking Committee in the first stage, will later be opened for general voting.
However, there is currently no specific date set for the commissions.
Experts indicate that Lummis and her colleagues will seek bipartisan support in the initial phase.
