Bill is a successful entrepreneur who previously founded and sold two startups, including the voting app TBH, which was acquired by Facebook in 2017, and the social networking app Gas, which was acquired by Discord in 2023. He has been an active user of X (formerly Twitter) and expressed interest in taking on a product leadership role after Musk acquired the platform in 2022.
As Bill joins X, the platform is integrating with Musk’s AI startup xAI. The two companies have collaborated on multiple projects, including the AI chatbot Grok developed by xAI and distributed through X. It is still unclear what Bill’s specific responsibilities will be, particularly regarding which aspects of xAI.
