According to Gate News bot and CNN reports, Rafael Grossi, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, stated on Thursday that the evidence collected by the agency regarding Iran’s nuclear program “is hard to serve as a basis for any military action.” Rafael said, “Any military action taken is a political decision and has nothing to do with what we are saying.”

After launching the first wave of strikes against Iran, Israel pointed out that a recent report from the International Atomic Energy Agency acknowledged that Iran’s uranium enrichment level is higher than that of other countries without nuclear weapons programs, violating its nuclear non-proliferation obligations.

But Grossi told Cooper that there is no indication that Iran has a “systematic plan to produce nuclear weapons.”

This week, U.S. President Donald Trump, who has been weighing whether the U.S. should participate in the conflict, stated that he believes Iran is “very close” to obtaining nuclear weapons.

Israel needs America’s help to destroy the Fordow nuclear facility buried deep in the Iranian mountains, as only the U.S. military has large-scale “bunker busters,” which are believed to effectively strike such deeply buried underground targets.

When Cooper asked Grossi if he was concerned about the potential consequences of a U.S. attack on Fordow, Grossi stated that “diplomacy is the way forward.” “Material structures can be destroyed, but knowledge cannot be destroyed. Technological progress and the advancements a country is making cannot be destroyed,” Grossi said.

In the days following the first attack on Iran, the Israel Defense Forces claimed to have “eliminated” nine Iranian nuclear scientists. Iran acknowledged that Israel killed nine nuclear scientists in the attack, but did not disclose the specific number.

Grossi this week refuted Iran’s claims of “misleading statements” made by the International Atomic Energy Agency regarding its nuclear program, and stated that the organization is ready to “closely monitor and assess the situation of Israeli attacks on nuclear facilities”.
