Jin10 reported on June 16 that Wang Huiyao, president of the Center for China and Globalization, called for rationality and cooperation to replace confrontation and containment between the two countries after the first meeting of the China-U.S. economic and trade consultation mechanism. He pointed out that even if there is structural competition between China and the U.S., the two sides can still achieve “controlled competition” in the spirit of Olympic-style and fair competition, avoiding falling into vicious confrontation.
