Gate News bot news, the U.S. Senate passed the procedural motion (cloture) for the amendment to the “GENIUS stablecoin bill” with a vote of 68 to 30. According to The Block, the final vote on the bill is expected to take place next Monday, and if both parties reach an agreement to shorten the debate time, the vote could be held earlier.

It is worth noting that the Senate previously attempted to advance the bill in May but it was not passed, and about a week later it was again passed by a procedural motion with a vote of 66 to 32. The core content of the bill includes requiring that stablecoins be fully backed by US dollars or equivalent high-liquidity assets, while also imposing annual audits on issuers with a market capitalization exceeding $50 billion.
