Techub News reports that, according to the final judgment issued by the Southern District of New York, the U.S. SEC has withdrawn its charges filed in 2023 against Tron founder Justin Sun, the Tron Foundation, and the BitTorrent Foundation.
Rainberry, the company developing the BitTorrent protocol and BTT tokens under Justin Sun, was fined $10 million in civil penalties and agreed never to engage in securities fraud or market manipulation.
In 2023, the SEC accused Justin Sun and his three affiliated companies of unregistered sales of TRX and BTT tokens. Justin Sun was also charged with manipulating TRX prices through false transactions and paying celebrities to promote the tokens without disclosing the interests involved.
