IT Home, March 2nd — According to Domain Investing yesterday, OpenAI appears to have acquired the GPT.com domain. Currently, visiting the site redirects to ChatGPT.com.
Reports indicate that OpenAI purchased Chat.com last year, which now also redirects to the official ChatGPT website.
Currently, GPT.com is registered with DNStination Inc., a subsidiary of the enterprise-level domain registrar MarkMonitor, so we cannot definitively confirm that the domain belongs to OpenAI.
Internet Archive (IT Home note: Archive.org) data shows that GPT.com previously redirected to GPTA.com.au, which is owned by Australian company Global Payment Technologies Australia Pty Ltd.
