The claim that Bitcoin (BTC) will exceed 40 thousand dollars by the end of the year is strengthened by cryptocurrency outflows in central exchanges.
Stock market outflows generally signal local price lows and support medium-term price growth expectations. BTC is currently trading around $38,600, leading to gains across the crypto market as well. Some tokens even experienced a 5 percent jump in the last 24 hours.
The overall market cap has risen to $1.5 trillion, a level last seen in May 2022, with nearly $400 billion added since the beginning of October.
Some market observers say interest rate cuts expected by central banks in the coming months could draw capital into the market and lead to volatility in speculative markets such as cryptocurrencies.
TradeStation's head of brokerage, Anthony Rousseau, stated the following in an interview with CoinDesk: “The US Federal Reserve paused its rate hike cycle, and central banks from around the world began joining the Fed. We can say that we have reached the peak of the tightening cycle. “We need lower rates and an end to Quantitative Tightening so that risk assets can become sustainable.”
“We are very close to 2024, which will potentially provide the most net positive liquidity for the markets. Bitcoin is a pure reflection of net liquidity in the markets and we need to see positive liquidity to support any bullish activity.”
Bitcoin momentum began to rise on Tuesday, when Fed Governor Chris Waller said that there was a slowdown in the economy and that they were "on the right track" considering inflation.
Additionally, Waller added that if inflation continues to decline, interest rate cuts may be possible within a few months.
