JPMorgan Chase has successfully completed its first collateral settlement using blockchain technology. The bank's Tokenized Collateral Network was used by BlackRock to convert shares into digital tokens, which were then transferred to Barclays as collateral for a derivatives trade. The use of blockchain technology allowed for almost instantaneous movement of collateral, increasing efficiency and freeing up locked capital for ongoing transactions
