According to a report from Immunefi, hackers have been increasingly targeting cryptocurrency projects, particularly in the DeFi sector. The report reveals that there has been a 63% increase in hacks across blockchains in Q2 2023 compared to the same period last year. While total losses have decreased by 60%, the number of hacks has risen by 65% and losses from fraud have surged by 225%. DeFi platforms have been the primary targets, suffering losses of $228 million across 79 separate incidents, while centralized platforms lost $37 million in just two incidents.
