A little friend just asked me if there is any news surface. Why did the price suddenly surge, and why is the speed of the rally so rapid?
This wave of Bitcoin's sudden $1,000 increase is a typical "short squeeze" tactic—main players rapidly pushing the price up to hit the break-even points and stop-loss orders of short positions in this area, thereby gaining liquidity. Currently, the market is waiting for the outcome of tomorrow's negotiations between Trump and Iran.
In this zone, many short positions have set break-even or stop-loss orders. Today's price rally is aimed at clearing out these orders and absorbing liquidity into their own hands.
There are also a large number of short orders (limit shorts) hanging above. If tomorrow's negotiations turn out poorly, the market is likely to crash directly. Since a rally has already occurred today to gather enough liquidity, the main players might not give the chance for those upper short orders to be filled—if the crash happens too quickly, those high-level short orders won't be executed at all.
Conversely, if the outcome is positive (good news), the price could continue to rise. At that point, the short orders above will be triggered and executed, trapping those shorts. Meanwhile, some retail traders who can't hold their positions may be shaken out.
In simple terms: today's rally is the main players "pre-emptively running" before the news is announced—first knocking out short stop-losses, then choosing the direction based on tomorrow's news. If it's bad news, they will directly dump the market to catch the chasing longs; if it's good news, they will continue to push and squeeze out the shorts.
