The Enemy Within: A Path to Overcoming Self-Sabotage

Recently, I read the book *The War of Art*, which introduced the concept of "internal resistance" and opened up new ways of thinking for me.

The book states: "Most of us have two lives. The one we are living, and the one we have never truly lived. Between the two is Resistance."

Internal resistance can manifest in our minds as procrastination, fear, doubt, and other forms—it is the greatest enemy to realizing our potential.

Author Steven Pressfield emphasizes that to conquer internal resistance, we must become "professionals." This means treating work as a responsibility and mission, rather than just a hobby or pastime.

We need to follow the principle of prioritization, clearly identify which tasks are important and urgent, and take action. This professionalism and professional attitude are the keys to defeating internal resistance.

▪️ Face Your Fear:
Overcoming internal resistance is not a one-time achievement but requires us to continuously challenge and transcend ourselves. When facing difficulties and challenges, stay patient, seek order, walk alongside fear, and bravely bear the pressure that adversity brings.

▪️ Accept Criticism:
Professionals see criticism as an opportunity for growth and improvement, not as a personal attack. Learn to extract valuable insights from criticism while maintaining your creative motivation.

▪️ Take Action:
Taking action, even in small steps, is an important step in fighting internal resistance and procrastination.

*The War of Art* is best kept on your bedside table, where you can flip through a few pages each night before sleep. These honest and straightforward words serve as a wake-up call and encouragement, helping us gradually break down the thick barriers that hinder us from living better lives through accumulation and reflection.

"Fear is natural, but it should not be our endpoint." Face challenges without fear—may we all become the strongest versions of ourselves!
