I saw many internal chat screenshots from NetEase circulating—starting from April 1st, 30% of outsourcing staff were to be laid off, and by May 1st, all of them were to be cut. There are even reports that it’s not just outsourcing; departments of full-time employees are also undergoing “clean-up.” It is said that the Guangzhou team has already successfully implemented a small project involving “planning submitting requirements + AI writing code + AI doing art + AI testing.” Even Ding Lei was very pleased upon seeing it, and now they are pushing it aggressively while also “clearing out” outsourcing staff.
