People’s Financial News, March 15 — On the evening of March 15, CCTV’s “3.15” Consumer Rights Day Gala exposed issues with rental electric bikes, including Hello Bike rentals. In response, Hello Bike issued an “Apology Statement.” The statement said that Hello Bike’s rental business operates through a platform model, providing information matching services for users and merchants. Hello Bike has not directly operated offline stores; all vehicles in the platform’s stores are purchased and operated by participating merchants. The statement also mentioned that Hello Bike continuously reminds merchants through the merchant app, conducts spot checks at stores, and requires merchants to ensure that rented vehicles comply with current national laws, regulations, and standards. Merchants are also regularly asked to self-inspect and rectify their vehicles. The CCTV “3.15” Gala report indicates lapses in their review mechanisms or management. They will take this incident as a warning, conduct deep reflection, implement strict rectifications, and respond to users’ trust with concrete actions. (First Financial)
