The Hard Cap: 21 Million

The most famous fact about Bitcoin is its limited supply. There will only ever be 21 million bitcoins.
• Current Status (March 2026): Approximately 19.98 million BTC have already been mined.
• The Final Coin: Because of a process called "halving" (where the reward for mining new blocks is cut in half every four years), the last tiny fraction of a bitcoin won't be mined until roughly the year 2140.
