his investments, contacts, and interest in BTC at an early stage of market development surfaced in correspondence and documents
all the facts:
▪️in 2014, he invested approximately $3M in Coinbase and later sold part of it at a profit
▪️ through structures associated with MIT, he invested approximately $50K in Blockstream; the company stated that the participation was minimal
▪️ donated approximately $850K to MIT, with a portion of the funds going to finance BTC developers
▪️ he kept in touch with Brock Pierce, who, according to him, introduced him to the cryptocurrency market
▪️ since 2011, he has been studying Bitcoin, but treated it more as a speculative instrument and was skeptical about the risks of public blockchain
▪️he claimed to have communicated with the "creators of BTC," but there is no evidence to support this
▪️ in his correspondence, he also mentioned Michael Saylor in an ironic context
conclusion: Epstein had no connection to the creation of BTC, but he was present in the early investment and academic circles associated with the development of the crypto industry
