I think DeFi, and crypto in general, made a big mistake early on.

We tried to solve problems people didn’t even know they had.
If someone doesn’t feel the risk of fully trusting national banks, they won’t care enough to learn how to self-custody, manage keys, or hold alternative assets.
Education can’t start from the solution. It has to start from awareness.
I honestly hope this whole “cleaning phase” crypto is going through forces us to mature, and stop building only for insiders and start understanding how people actually wake up to change.
