【CoinPush】Stablecoin issuer Circle announces funding to the United Nations to promote the construction of global digital financial infrastructure, aiming to accelerate the efficiency of humanitarian aid disbursements. This announcement was made at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
According to the Circle Foundation, this is their first funding commitment to an international organization, primarily supporting the work of the United Nations Center for Digital Finance Solutions (DHoTS), with the goal of simplifying cross-border fund transfers within the UN system. This continues Circle’s collaboration trajectory in 2022—when it provided aid to displaced persons in Ukraine through the USDC stablecoin.
UNDP Administrator Alexander De Croo admitted that, in the context of increasingly tight budgets, stablecoin payments can “make every dollar go further.” Data shows that approximately $38 billion in humanitarian funds flow through traditional financial systems annually worldwide, and the involvement of digital infrastructure is expected to significantly improve the actual utilization efficiency of these funds.
UNHCR High Commissioner Barham Salih also emphasized that the core significance of this project lies in enhancing the dignity and autonomous choice of forcibly displaced populations through technological innovation, while ensuring that every donation maximizes its humanitarian utility.

Stablecoins for charity? Sure, anyway, the funds I lost in arbitrage need a place to go. Let's donate to disaster relief together.

Stablecoins have finally found their true application, much better than those purely for speculation. This is what real implementation looks like.

Stablecoins are getting things done. Much more reliable than some worthless tokens, truly used to help people. Not bad, not bad.
