Everyone is talking about low fees, but Solana has indeed achieved stable and inexpensive transactions — that's its competitive edge. The problem is that when the market experiences extreme volatility or network congestion, fees can skyrocket to hundreds of dollars, and this nonlinear surge directly undermines the use case of low-cost chains. Especially for retail users making small transactions, it's simply unusable. If fees can spiral out of control due to black swan events, then the so-called "price-stable chain" loses its value proposition. Stable and predictable fee rates are the key.

I laughed the moment the costs skyrocketed; all the hype beforehand was pointless.

sol's fee model is basically a mirage tbh... sure it looks cheap until the network hiccups and suddenly you're paying $400 for a shitcoin swap lol

It's incredibly cheap during the pump, and the crash costs just take off. This trick with Solana is really a bit dirty.

Here we go again. I’ve already forgotten when the last market crash and SOL fee surge happened... Are you only realizing it now?

The black swan reveals its true colors with SOL this time. Luckily, I had already transferred to a fund.

A few hundred dollars in gas? Ha, I experienced that last time, I was completely overwhelmed.

Honestly, no matter how loud the talk is, it’s useless if you choke at critical moments and fail. Wait, isn’t this exactly what Solana is like right now? You only realize what “real” means when a black swan appears... Fees soaring by hundreds of dollars, and still dare to call it a low-cost chain? Laughable, that’s just a facade. Stability is something that’s blown out of proportion; only when it’s truly needed do you see the real deal. Another flashy but empty promise, retail investors get cut the worst.

That's right, I personally experienced it once. When the black swan event occurred, the costs skyrocketed, and it was impossible to play.
