Ford reportedly enters battery supply negotiations with BYD to support its hybrid vehicle expansion. The automaker aims to secure consistent battery sourcing for both current and forthcoming hybrid models. Strategically, the partnership could involve manufacturing operations outside US territory, allowing Ford to optimize costs and navigate tariff structures more effectively. This move signals how traditional automotive manufacturers are recalibrating supply chains in response to evolving trade policies and the accelerating EV/hybrid transition. The collaboration underscores the growing interdependence between legacy automakers and battery specialists in shaping the next-gen mobility landscape.

It's the same old story, supply chain optimization, cost control... I've been through all that, and it's just being forced to bow down. Ford negotiating with BYD? Basically, the American way isn't working anymore, so they have to go overseas to find cheaper options, just like those project promoters making big promises before the mining disaster years ago. With such heavy tariff pressure, everyone has to compromise.
