What exactly is a dApp? Think of it this way: regular apps live on centralized servers controlled by big companies. But decentralized applications (dApps) flip the script—they run on blockchain networks instead. Same functionality you'd expect from traditional apps, just built on-chain with no single authority calling the shots. That's the key difference.

From a technical architecture perspective, this explanation is somewhat oversimplified. The core of a dApp is not only decentralized operation but also involves decentralizing the frontend—which most projects actually do not do, ironic or not? According to on-chain data from 2023, among dApps claiming to be fully decentralized, less than 15% have truly achieved both front-end and back-end decentralization, which warrants further investigation.

Basically, no one can shut down your app, and that's true freedom.

Decentralization always sounds so ideal, but is there really no one doing evil?

Basically, it removes the middlemen, but is this thing really better than centralized systems? I still think it's painfully slow.

ngl this is exactly what I've always wanted to tell newbies, and finally someone has said it clearly... It's so awesome not having centralized parents overseeing everything.

Basically, no one can lock your account, and that's the kind of thing I like.

So it's just about cutting out the middlemen, huh? Nice.
