It's not the kind of overhyped,虚无虚无 project; behind it is a solid market demand.

I initially learned about Walrus purely because it appeared on the Sui ecosystem's airdrop list. I heard that it had raised $140 million in funding led by a16z, which is quite an endorsement and definitely attractive. So I did some basic operations, claimed some tokens, and then just stored them in my wallet without further thought. My initial judgment was straightforward: the decentralized storage track has long been crowded, and all projects seem to be the same old story, not worth spending time to delve into. Looking back now, such dismissiveness was truly immature.

The turning point came at the end of the year. After over a year of working on Web3 content, I had accumulated more than 300GB of videos and images. Storing them on centralized cloud drives always made me uneasy—platforms can delete files with a flick of a risk control switch, and the monthly fees are exorbitant. Later, I tried several well-known decentralized storage products—one was painfully slow, and the other was ridiculously expensive. After messing around for a while, I still couldn't find a truly good one.

At a moment when I was flipping through wallets, I suddenly remembered Walrus. With a try-and-see attitude, I uploaded some materials to test it out. The results were completely unexpected: upload speeds were astonishingly fast, HD video files almost opened instantly, and the total storage cost for a year was less than one-third of what centralized platforms charge. I couldn't sit still anymore—I decided to seriously investigate how this project managed to achieve this.

Really? The ability to open 300GB of material in seconds is truly impressive.

Oh, this is the real necessity, not some kind of money-grabbing scheme.

To be honest, I thought the same as you before—decentralized storage is just that, right? But I got proven wrong.

Oh really, I used to just throw it away and forget about it, but now that I've used it, I really didn't waste my time.

You only understand after actually using it; before, I just casually claimed an airdrop and that was it.
