Arc Raiders developers recently clarified their stance on competitive features, stating they have no plans to introduce traditional PVP leaderboards. The core reasoning? The game's design philosophy centers on cooperative gameplay rather than player-versus-player competition. This design choice reflects a deliberate approach to community building—focusing on shared objectives and collaborative progression instead of ranked systems that might fragment the player base. It's a refreshing take in an industry often obsessed with competitive ladders and status hierarchies. The dev team believes their vision works better without the typical PVP metrics many players expect, betting that cooperation creates stronger long-term engagement than competition.

Been stuck for so long and still can't rank up, really frustrating... Cooperative gaming sounds pretty good, but I'm worried no one will play it later on.

NGL, this collaborative system can really sustain itself longer and is much healthier than those games that require ranking every day.

nah fr no leaderboards? that's actually based... most devs are addicted to that ranked cascade effect but coop engagement does hit different long term. they're not wrong about the fragmentation risk tbh

Not creating leaderboards? Oh wow, that's a bit of a wild idea. Collaborative games are indeed rare.

The collaborative design is indeed fresh, but can it really retain people?

no pvp leaderboards? lmao they're literally leaving basis points on the table. engagement metrics would pop off, ngl

No ranked mode, huh? That's a bit brave. But to be honest, there haven't been many games in the cooperative genre over the past two years that have truly lasted long.

The collaborative design is truly thoughtful, but aren't players still going to compete fiercely in the end?
