Ryan Hayward, Head of Digital Assets and Strategic Investments at Barclays Bank, stated: “As the token, blockchain, and wallet sectors continue to develop, specialized technology will play a key role in providing connectivity and infrastructure, helping regulated financial institutions achieve seamless interaction. This investment aligns with Barclays' exploration of opportunities based on new digital currencies such as stablecoins.” Previously, in June last year, stablecoin startup Ubyx completed a $10 million seed round funding, led by Galaxy Ventures.
