A new round of virtual asset regulatory framework is underway. According to the plan, regulatory authorities will introduce an account freezing mechanism—this approach draws on the traditional stock market's handling of manipulative accounts.
What is the core consideration of this new system? Virtual assets are highly liquid, and once transferred into personal wallets, they are easily concealed, making traditional regulatory methods difficult to track. Through the freezing mechanism, regulators can more quickly cut off the flow of illegal funds.
In other words, this is not only to strengthen investor protection but also to close loopholes in criminal proceeds. This measure is expected to be incorporated into the second phase of virtual asset regulatory legislation. For exchanges and wallet users, this means that compliance and risk control requirements will be further enhanced.

Account frozen? Here we go again, it feels like the escape route is getting narrower and narrower.

ngl, account freezing mechanisms are just centralized honeypots waiting to happen. they'll say it's for "investor protection" but look at the exploit vectors here... once exchanges hold freeze authority, rugpull indicators multiply exponentially. DYOR on which platforms actually decentralize this or you're asking for trouble tbh.

The account freezing mechanism is here, and life for self-custody wallets is not going to be easy anymore.

With the account freeze mechanism in place, the advantages of self-custody wallets are diminished... Now, it's time to think about how to strike a balance between compliance and freedom.

Account frozen? Here we go again? Now self-custody wallets also need to be cautious. It seems the freedom will be significantly reduced.
