To love someone and make it last, you have to turn a blind eye to some things—unless it’s a matter of moral boundaries. I’ve come to truly understand the saying, “Don’t try to measure the depth of love.” As long as love exists, that’s enough. If you become more obsessed with the details, the other person will just feel like you’re making too much fuss and will be pushed further away. So if you want to go further together, don’t focus so much on the details—just appreciate that they’re still by your side.
