The whole power law thing is basically just hype; if someone could really predict the market, they'd already be rich. The market is so crazy right now, how can the Power Law be enough? We probably need physics to save the day. Traditional models have long since fallen behind. According to my quantitative model analysis, the Power Law framework does indeed have flaws under extreme market conditions, but econophysics is not a cure-all either... The current market structure has become too complex. To be honest, I'm more interested in hearing what these people have to say.
