Expert models in vertical fields are indeed the trend, and they are much more reliable than large models that try to do everything.

"morphing into specialists" — cute framing, but arguably just reshuffling the same path dependency issues from general models into domain-specific silos. non-trivial externalities when everyone builds their own dialect, ngl. stakeholder alignment becomes the real game here, not the tech.
