Don't remind me again today

Have you ever encountered this situation?

The price of the coin just started to go down, and I thought to myself, "I'll wait a little longer, it will definitely rebound." As a result, the next day it really did rebound, but I didn't increase my position; then it fell another two points, and I still didn't make a move.

On the third day, it continued to drop by 3%, and you tell yourself "I'll wait for an opportunity to exit." On the fourth day, it rebounded by 1%, and you think again, "I haven't broken even yet, I'll wait a bit longer."

Just like that, I watched helplessly as the account went from profit to loss, losing dozens of points.

To be honest, this kind of operation is too common among retail investors. Where does the problem lie?

The core is just one word: unwilling to admit mistakes.

I have observed that those who trade more steadily have a common trait—they cut their positions immediately when they make a wrong judgment, without getting entangled or fantasizing, and directly restart the next round.

I am the same way. Unless it's an asset that I have thoroughly researched and am certain about its long-term value, I only dare to buy more as the price drops. At other times? Before each order, I set a stop-loss level, and if it reaches that, I exit without discussion.

Why be so ruthless?

Because in this market, all the money you've made before can be lost in one mistake. Trading is not a sprint; it's a marathon. Surviving is more important than anything else.

So if you want to stay in this industry for a long time, you must break a habit: stop waiting for "to sell after a rebound".

When it's time to cut losses, just close your eyes and do it. Mature traders don't avoid mistakes; they adjust immediately when they make one, rather than letting it go all the way.

You are absolutely right, this is how I ended up losing. If I had known that cutting positions was so appealing, I wouldn't have been trapped for so long.

Isn't this just my blood and tears story from last year? At that time, I also suffered a terrible loss like this.
