Zama organized a Dutch Auction with an encryption bid, 10% Token directly unlocked.

robot
Abstract generation in progress

[Chain Text] Zama is going to hold a somewhat interesting Token auction - 10% of ZAMA Tokens will be released through a Dutch Auction, but the gameplay is different: all bids are encrypted, using their own FHE technology.

This mechanism design is quite clever: first, it eliminates the possibility of scientists jumping the gun and gas wars, as everyone cannot see others' bids and can only act based on their own judgment; second, it directly unlocks after the auction without using the linear release routine. The auction is scheduled to take place from January 12 to 15, 2026, and the coins can be claimed on the 20th.

The ZAMA token is not purely a governance coin; it has practical uses within the protocol—paying for the encryption and decryption fees of FHE coprocessors, staking to node operators, and maintaining KMS node security. In simple terms, it adds a layer of confidentiality to the existing L1/L2, with the entire data processing process being encrypted.

Background information: Zama just secured a $57 million Series B led by Pantera Capital in June this year, with a valuation directly reaching $1 billion. They said the mainnet will be launched by the end of the year, at which point the Token functions will be fully activated.

The combination of Dutch Auction and secret bidding can indeed make price discovery more authentic, at least without worrying about being targeted by large players.

Encrypted bidding? Alright, finally someone is bringing something new to the table, but I still want to ask—can it really completely prevent insider leaks?

Damn, a Dutch auction with encrypted bids? This is really the first time I've seen this. Feels like playing a spy game—no one can see anyone else's cards...

Encryption bid? This move is ruthless, it directly shuts the scientists up, I like it.

Wow, the design of this encryption bidding is really something, scientists will have to rely on their skills this time. I like the direct unlocking gameplay, no need to watch the release progress bar, it's refreshing. To be honest, I'm still a bit confused about this FHE technology, but it seems quite practical? It can provide encryption layer protection for L1/L2, if this thing really gets implemented, it will be valuable. But this timing... it won't start until January 2026, that's a long wait.

Hmm, this auction mechanism really has something to it, the encryption bids have directly locked out the scientists' opportunity to rush in. But what I'm most concerned about is, what is the gas cost of this FHE coprocessor? If it's ridiculously expensive, the token demand won't be able to hold up. That said, is it right or wrong to unlock this operation directly? Linear release is painful but it can indeed lock in liquidity.

Encryption bidding? This is what a real privacy auction should look like, unlike some projects that are just putting on a show. Direct unlocking is even better, saving those teams from causing trouble during the release period. --- Can this FHE thing really be applied? Isn't it said that the performance is garbage? Can it improve this time? --- Dutch Auction plus FHE, the design is indeed amazing, but I'm afraid it will just be another variant of VC playing people for suckers, and then institutions take everything. --- Direct unlocking, projects that dare to do this are indeed rare, quite interesting. --- The question is, does anyone really use this? L1/L2 encryption layers sound solid, but what about actual demand? --- I have high hopes for the FHE track, but can Zama make it? It's really hard for technology to be implemented. --- Encryption bidding can be considered innovative, but the idea of preventing scientists from jumping the gun is a bit optimistic; as long as there are profits to be made, someone will find a way. --- January 12th, that's a long way off. Who knows what the market will look like then? But this auction method is indeed worth following.

Dutch Auction encryption bidding? This operation is indeed a bit harsh, directly leaving scientists with no way out, huh.

Another new trick in the encryption auction, alright let me see if I can enter a position.

Encryption bidding? This move is indeed clever; someone has finally figured out how to put an end to the gas wars... But I just want to know, can these people really trust that FHE won't have issues?

Wow, this design is indeed amazing, the encryption bidding directly cuts off the route for front-running.
