Don't remind me again today

European equities took a hit recently while the yen's been catching a bid. What's driving this? Expectations that Japan might finally pull the trigger on another rate hike.

Risk-off vibes seem to be creeping back into traditional markets. When the yen strengthens on rate speculation, it usually signals investors repositioning for tighter monetary policy in Asia. This kind of macro shift doesn't happen in isolation—crypto markets often feel the ripple effects too, especially when liquidity conditions change.

Worth monitoring how this plays out. If Japan actually moves on rates, we could see capital flows reshuffling across both TradFi and digital assets.

With such strong expectations for interest rate hikes in Japan, it's no surprise that European stocks can hold up. Once liquidity tightens, money will flow into yen, and the crypto world will once again have to endure the fluctuations.

As soon as the expectation of interest rate hikes in Japan came out, European stocks plummeted, the yen surged, and is liquidity tightening really on the way? Now crypto can't escape either, and capital flows are about to be reshuffled.

Japan is going to raise interest rates, which means European stocks will take a hit, and the crypto world might also shake a bit.
