Don't remind me again today

On Tuesday morning, a rumor about the possible resignation of the Fed chairman quickly spread on social media platforms. Many investors began to worry: will the policy suddenly shift? Should they adjust their positions?

Let's start with the conclusion - this wave of rumors is currently still at the "unverified" stage.

The source of the matter comes from scattered discussions on overseas social media, claiming that Powell may resign in an emergency on Monday. However, a careful review shows that mainstream financial media has not followed up on the report, and the Fed has made no official statement. In other words, this is more like the market sentiment amplifying a certain speculation.

What is truly noteworthy is another piece of information: Trump previously mentioned that he would "announce" a new candidate direction "soon," while the nominated frontrunner Hassett himself responded with the word "rumors." What does this mean? At the very least, it indicates that even though there is a possibility of personnel changes, it is still far from being a done deal.

So why is the market so sensitive?

The reasoning is simple. The change in the Fed chair essentially represents a potential change in the execution style of monetary policy. Will the pace of interest rate hikes be adjusted? Is there a difference in tolerance for inflation? These will directly affect global liquidity, which in turn will transmit to risk assets—cryptocurrency markets are naturally included. Once uncertainty arises, short-term volatility is almost inevitable.

But the problem is that volatility ≠ direction.

The most critical time point at this stage is actually 9 AM this Tuesday. Powell himself will have a public speech, and the market needs to capture real signals from his statements—whether to maintain the previous policy tone or to release some hints of a shift? This is the "hard information" that is truly worth paying attention to.

What do ordinary investors need the most at this time? Calmness, not following the trend.

Here are a few suggestions for your reference:

First, don't rush to place your bets. Market fluctuations during the rumor phase are often two-way, and blindly betting on a direction can easily backfire due to emotions.

Second, wait for confirmation. The speech on Tuesday is the core variable; any actions taken before that are considered "submitting early."

Third, stick to the plan. If you already have a dollar-cost averaging strategy or position management rules, then execute according to the original plan. The noise from news is generated every day, but your trading discipline is the real moat.

Ultimately, in the crypto market, surviving longer is more important than running faster. When market sentiment begins to stir, it is actually a time to test your risk management abilities.

The trend of mainstream assets like ETH may be affected by macro narratives in the short term, but the logic in the medium to long term will not change due to an unverified rumor.

It’s another false alarm, no wonder it’s been so chaotic these past couple of days... Trust me, don’t act just yet, the key is to listen to what Powell says on Tuesday.
