The Yearn yETH pool was hacked, and 9 million dollars disappeared.

Abstract generation in progress

On November 30th at around 9 PM UTC (, Yearn's yETH liquidity pool encountered an issue. A hacker exploited a self-written contract to crazily mint yETH Tokens, directly taking approximately 8 million dollars from the pool. Even worse, the yETH-WETH liquidity pool on Curve also suffered, losing around 900,000.

Yearn's official team quickly came out to reassure everyone—don't panic, the code that was attacked this time is independent and has nothing to do with other products. The vaults of V2 and V3 versions are all fine and have not been affected at all. They said the complexity of this attack is similar to the one that previously affected Balancer.

The Yearn team is now collaborating with SEAL911 and the auditing company ChainSecurity to investigate, and it is estimated that there will be a more detailed technical analysis report released in the future.

It's the same old rhetoric again, is V2V3 fine? I just don't believe it. --- 9 million just vanished like that, even the stable pool isn't stable anymore. --- Hackers are now more professional than audits, we retail investors are really inexperienced. --- Curve also got hit, the liquidity pool is completely collapsed, it's so terrifying. --- SEAL911 and ChainSecurity checked a technical report, the hacker must have already rug pulled. --- yETH this time directly led to social death, who would dare to touch it now? --- What’s the use of whether the problem is independent or not, the money is gone.

9 million is gone, it's the same trap again, I just want to know how the audit couldn't find anything. --- yearn has been hacked again, I really can't hold on anymore, brothers. --- Minting vulnerabilities... this has become an eternal topic in the smart contracts world, the audit companies' salaries probably have to rise. --- Seeing the official say it so easily, why do I feel like there's something else going on? --- How tragic was that balancer incident, can't yearn learn from it? Do we have to go through it again? --- The liquidity pool is suffering too, it's really uncomfortable to drag others down with you. --- SEAL911 has stepped in, this time it might take quite a bit of time to get to the bottom of it. --- I just want to ask, why did no one discover such a vulnerability before it went live? --- 9 million dollars... some people are going to have a hard time dealing with this.

9 million just disappeared like that, Yearn must be so exhausted Another contract bug, when will these audits be reliable? It's fine if it's V2V3, otherwise it would really blow up.
