Cryptocurrencies for December: the best assets for the last month of the year

Source: PortaldoBitcoin Original Title: Cryptocurrencies for December: see the best assets for the last month of the year Original Link: The cryptocurrency market enters December with a more favorable environment than in previous weeks, after a period of strong volatility caused by the liquidity squeeze in the US, ETF sell-off pressure, and macroeconomic fears, which even brought down Bitcoin to $80,000.

The expectation now is for a moderate recovery, driven by signs of stabilization in the international scenario and the possibility of institutional flows gaining strength again.

Experts point out that the recent correction has opened entry opportunities, especially in assets that maintain solid fundamentals, large capitalization, and growing usage in relevant ecosystems. Among the main bets for the month are Bitcoin, Ethereum, and some altcoins that benefit from trends such as tokenization, high-performance infrastructure, and regulatory advancement.

Bitcoin and Ethereum

The consensus among analysts is that Bitcoin (BTC) continues to be the main thermometer of risk appetite. According to Marcelo Person, Crypto Treasury & Markets Director at Foxbit, the asset is still the major institutional pillar: “With consolidated ETFs, growth of professional custody services, and rising dominance, Bitcoin continues to be the main driver of the market.”

He highlights projections from major banks: “Analysts project that the asset could reach the range of $135,000 as early as 2025, if it surpasses the critical resistance between $90,000 and $100,000.”

For Guilherme Fais of NovaDAX, even after recent drops, the signals remain constructive: “Small investors are selling in panic, while whales and ETFs continue to accumulate.” He believes that December may mark the beginning of a recovery movement if the macro environment shows signs of stabilization.

Paulo Camargo, CIO of Underblock and ambassador of a trading platform, is on the same line: “Bitcoin remains the main asset to watch this month. A consistent advance should only occur if the currency settles above the region of 116 thousand dollars.”

In Ethereum (ETH), optimism is also shared. According to Rony Szuster, head of research at MB (Mercado Bitcoin), the asset continues to benefit from the recovery of the sector and the increasing use in staking and layer two solutions. “Ethereum may be promising due to the increased liquidity in the crypto market and the expectation of new institutional flows driven by ETFs.”

Fais reinforces the role of ETH in moments of market indecision: “Ethereum tends to absorb liquidity during periods of indecision, which may favor better performance at the end of the year.”

Marcelo Person already states that structural demand continues to increase: “The reduction of ETH in circulation on exchanges and the increase in staking continue to indicate buying pressure. The network is expected to end the year with peaks of on-chain activity.”

Solana (SOL)

Solana is unanimously regarded by analysts as one of the most promising cryptocurrencies for December.

For Rony Szuster, from MB, the asset benefits from institutional entry: “Solana may soon have a spot ETF on the American stock market, which could even offer staking resources, significantly enhancing the entry of institutional capital.”

Analyst Ana de Mattos, a partner at Ripio, reinforces this movement, saying that “Solana has matured a lot in 2025. It received its first spot ETF in the US at the end of October and a wave of products with embedded staking has emerged.”

For her, the recent drop represents an opportunity: “Even with inflow, SOL has declined about 30% since the debut of the ETFs, which can be seen as an opportunity to buy at lower prices.”

Já Fais highlights that Solana has been “one of the strongest altcoins of the year” and continues to attract developers and new projects, with high real usage in decentralized applications.

Chainlink (LINK)

Chainlink repeatedly appears among the recommendations, mainly due to the growing relevance of real-world asset tokenization. Szuster explains: “Chainlink solves one of the industry's biggest problems: the lack of reliable data for smart contracts.”

Guilherme Fais reinforces the thesis by highlighting that LINK directly benefits from the expansion of the tokenization of real assets, as it provides the oracle infrastructure used by banks, brokers, and institutions.

“Chainlink is well positioned today as critical infrastructure for RWA, offering oracles, automation, and connectivity between different networks, in addition to specific solutions for tokenized assets,” complements André Sprone from a trading platform.

Aave (AAVE)

Aave also appears among the most cited and represents the DeFi thesis that “generates cash” and remains solid even in periods of volatility. “Aave is seen as promising because it occupies a central position in the DeFi ecosystem, offering security, liquidity, and a consistent development track record,” says Szuster.

Ana de Mattos reinforces the thesis: “AAVE is launching the V4 update, which promises to improve capital efficiency and liquidity organization. The update may act as a catalyst for long-term gains.”

XRP

XRP is back on the radar of specialists with strength after a phase of significant regulatory advancement and the launch of ETFs in the USA.

For Ana de Mattos, the end of the dispute with the SEC brought regulatory clarity and paved the way for the first spot ETFs of XRP, which raised over $100 million in a day.

The growing institutional adoption of Ripple reinforces the positive outlook, driven by the company's global advancement in payment solutions, custody, and stablecoins.

Toncoin (TON)

Among the year-end recommendations, Toncoin stands out as one of the main bets outside the “traditional crypto world”. “TON has been consolidating its presence as one of the blockchains most focused on real use, integrated with Telegram with native payments, miniapps, and P2P transfers,” says Person.

According to him, the natural increase in traffic on digital platforms in December tends to further boost the ecosystem: “With the natural increase in digital traffic and content consumption on social networks, the TON ecosystem tends to benefit directly.”

Other cryptocurrencies

In addition to the main bets, experts also mentioned other assets that may stand out in December.

Paulo Camargo, from Underblock, cites the highly volatile token Hyperliquid (HYPE) as a potential short-term highlight.

Marcelo Person points to relevant second layer networks such as Optimism (OP) and Arbitrum (ARB), driven by expanding ecosystems and large incentive programs. André Sprone highlights Ondo (ONDO) as one of the most representative assets of the institutional tokenization thesis.

According to the database, it is the end of the year again, and major project parties have started their seasonal hype... It has been a whole year since the last promise of "explosion in December". Waiting for the flowers to bloom, after all, delays have become an art.
