The FED announced in the Beige Book report published just minutes ago and compiled by the Boston FED that the US economy showed slight growth during the period from the end of May to the beginning of July. However, the economic outlook was assessed as generally neutral to slightly pessimistic.
The report states that only two of the Fed’s 12 districts expect an increase in economic activity in the upcoming period, while the remaining districts forecast either the maintenance of current levels or a slight weakening of economic activity.
Price increases continued across the country. While seven regions described the price increases as moderate, five regions reported that prices rose at a more modest pace. This picture generally parallels the previous Beige Book report.
