Pi Network Launches Second Phase Migration: Referral Rewards Unlocked, Mainnet Progress Accelerated

Gate News reports that in 2026, Pi Network will officially advance to the second phase of its mainnet migration after Pi Day, allowing users who have completed the initial migration to continue transferring additional balances, including long-accumulated referral rewards. Currently, over 119,000 users have completed the second phase of migration, but the process still employs a batch opening mechanism, meaning not all users participate simultaneously.

The core of this upgrade lies in the release mechanism of referral rewards. Users can transfer Pi contributed by their referral teams into their mainnet accounts, provided that the relevant members have completed KYC verification. Accounts that have not completed verification will not be able to migrate the corresponding rewards. This rule encourages the community to accelerate the identity verification process and directly affects the scale of assets that users can ultimately withdraw.

On the execution front, due to the significant differences in mining records and referral structures across accounts, the system needs to calculate data one by one to ensure the accuracy of reward distribution. Therefore, the migration progress is relatively cautious to reduce the risk of errors and maintain fairness.

At the same time, Pi Network has made it clear that the first migration remains a current priority. Users who have not completed the mainnet migration are still at the front of the processing queue, while the second phase migration proceeds as a supplementary process in parallel. This layered strategy avoids resource congestion and helps the overall network transition smoothly.

In terms of security mechanisms, users must enable two-factor authentication (2FA) and complete wallet-related settings before they can transfer assets. Given the irreversibility of blockchain transactions, the platform has strengthened multi-verification processes to reduce losses caused by operational errors.

Regarding ecological development, Pi Network is expanding its application scenarios. The testnet has launched Pi Launchpad, supporting project token issuance and application development, while tools like Pi App Studio continue to be updated, promoting the transition of tokens from “mining assets” to “actual use.”

As the migration gradually completes, Pi Network’s development focus is shifting from user growth to ecological implementation, with its mainnet progress and application expansion becoming the key areas of attention in the next phase.
