Gate News: On March 24, a 26-year-old reservist soldier, Raz Cohen, was formally charged in the Jerusalem District Court with allegedly passing confidential information to Iranian intelligence agents and accepting cryptocurrency as payment. According to a joint statement from Israeli police and the Shin Bet domestic security agency, Cohen served in a unit responsible for the Iron Dome missile defense system. During contact with Iranian intelligence personnel, he transmitted sensitive information related to the Iron Dome system, military base details, and the names of Israeli security officials, receiving approximately $1,000 worth of cryptocurrency as compensation. Cohen faces three charges: aiding the enemy during wartime, transmitting information to the enemy for the purpose of endangering national security, and passing information that could benefit the enemy. Under Israeli law, aiding the enemy during wartime can result in life imprisonment or the death penalty.
