Gate GUSD is a US dollar investment product backed by real-world assets (RWA), such as U.S. Treasury bonds. Unlike traditional stablecoins, GUSD directly links the holding period to yields and settles principal and interest together in one payment when redeemed. This approach makes on-chain asset management more similar to a note-based model.

Background of GUSD’s Creation

Gate GUSD is a dollar-denominated investment certificate backed by real-world assets (RWAs) such as U.S. Treasury bonds. Unlike conventional stablecoins, GUSD directly links holding periods to accrued returns, settling both principal and interest in a single payment upon redemption. This approach brings on-chain asset management closer to the promissory note model found in traditional finance.

Simple Ways to Get Started

Gate offers two straightforward options for users:

  1. Trade USDT directly for GUSD on the spot market.
  2. Mint GUSD on-chain with USDT or USDC at a 1:1 exchange rate.

Once minted, GUSD serves as margin in unified accounts and is supported across major trading pairs. This facilitates both trading and asset allocation strategies.

Design: Returns Linked to Holding Period

GUSD yields originate from the underlying RWA assets, including U.S. Treasuries. Instead of accruing interest daily, both principal and total return are paid out at redemption in a single disbursement.

  • For example: If a user mints GUSD with 100 USDT and earns a 20% return over the holding period, they would receive 120 USDC at redemption.

Additionally, Gate’s GUSD Flexible Savings product is now available, allowing idle funds to compound and grow continuously.

Added Incentive Mechanisms

To further attract participants, Gate has launched the GUSD staking pool, allowing users to share in CELB rewards. The estimated annualized yield can reach as high as 365% (refer to the official website for the latest rates). Gate will continue to roll out lending and CandyDrop promotions, gradually building a dual-engine model that offers both stable income and ecosystem rewards.

What Makes GUSD Different from Traditional Stablecoins?

Most stablecoins serve primarily for payments and settlements. By tying value to holding duration, GUSD provides appreciation potential. It functions as an on-chain coupon derived from a portfolio of U.S. Treasuries, offering stability along with additional upside for holders.

Transparency and Redemption Process

Gate aims to rapidly grow GUSD’s scale to over $100 million. The platform will disclose proof of reserves and custody details over time, enabling users to independently verify 100% full backing. For redemptions, users can convert GUSD to USDC at any time. They can then freely exchange for USDT or other assets. This ensures complete liquidity without restrictions.

Distinct Features Compared to Other RWA Products

  • Dual-currency minting (USDT/USDC) adapts to various funding sources and user preferences.
  • Unified use of GUSD across trading, margin, asset management, and staking delivers a comprehensive range of applications.
  • Integration with Gate ecosystem activities (e.g., Launchpool, CandyDrop) diversifies the sources of returns.

Conclusion

GUSD offers investors seeking stable USD-based returns and high liquidity a straightforward solution: mint, hold, stake for rewards, and redeem flexibly. As trading, lending, flexible savings, and staking use cases continue to grow, GUSD is set to become a cornerstone of on-chain cash management and drive further adoption of real-world assets in the crypto space.

AI-Native Settlement Layers: How United Stables Is Building the Next Financial Rail

Stablecoins were originally designed as dollar substitutes within exchanges, primarily used for asset pricing and trade settlement. As on-chain financial ecosystems have matured, their role has expanded beyond simple payments to include collateral assets, cross-chain liquidity mediums, and unified settlement units. In particular, as AI systems and automated agents begin to participate directly in economic activity, demand has risen sharply for programmable value units capable of instant settlement. This shift is pushing stablecoins toward the role of foundational financial infrastructure.

DePIN Identity Network and Real World Applications: How Humanity Protocol Brings on-chain Identity Into the Physical World

Most Web3 identity systems remain confined to on-chain environments and struggle to achieve meaningful adoption in real world settings. Through a DePIN architecture and physical verification hardware, Humanity Protocol aims to bring decentralized identity into access control systems, hospitality, public services, and offline events, allowing on-chain identity to function not just as a digital credential, but as foundational infrastructure for real world access.

Aster vs Hyperliquid: Which Perp DEX Will Prevail?

Aster and Hyperliquid are the two representative protocols of the "purpose-built L1 path" within the current decentralized perpetual exchange (Perp DEX) sector. As a pioneer in the field, Hyperliquid has built a deep liquidity moat through its highly mature order book architecture and strong community consensus. Conversely, Aster, as a rising challenger, seeks to leapfrog the competition in high-performance trading through more aggressive multi-chain aggregation logic, private transaction modules, and an underlying execution environment optimized for 2026 market demands.

Aerodrome Tokenomics: How ve(3,3) Powers Base's Most Profitable DEX

AERO is the native token of Aerodrome Finance, a core decentralized exchange and liquidity protocol in the Base ecosystem. It is primarily used for liquidity incentives and ecosystem operations. veAERO is a governance NFT that users receive by locking AERO, representing both voting power and the right to share protocol revenue. Through a dual track structure of AERO as a utility token and veAERO as a governance credential, Aerodrome separates liquidity usage value from long term governance power, allowing participants to act as liquidity providers, governance decision makers, and revenue sharers within the same system.
