AI cybersecurity startup RunSybil completes $40 million funding round led by Khosla Ventures
Deep Tide TechFlow News, on March 18th, according to Fortune, AI cybersecurity startup RunSybil completed $40 million in funding. The round was led by Khosla Ventures, with participation from S32, Anthropic’s Anthology Fund, Menlo Ventures, Conviction, and Elad Gil. Angel investors include Nikesh Arora, Amit Agarwal, Jeff Dean, and others, as well as founders and executives from OpenAI, Palo Alto Networks, Stripe, and Google. The company did not disclose its valuation for this funding round.
RunSybil was co-founded in 2023 by Ari Herbert-Voss, OpenAI’s first security researcher, and Vlad Ionescu, former head of Meta’s offensive security red team. Its core product is the AI agent Sybil, which continuously performs automated penetration testing on online applications, discovering, exploiting, and recording real security vulnerabilities without human intervention. Currently, RunSybil’s clients include startups such as Cursor, Turbopuffer, Notion, Baseten, Thinking Machines Lab, as well as several large financial institutions and Fortune 500 companies.
